What Florida beaches can we get married on?

We perform beach weddings along the Gulf coast of Florida. This is considered the Tampa Bay region and includes Pinellas, Hillsborough & Manatee counties. Our most popular beaches are Redington, Indian Shores, St. Pete Beach, Pass-A-Gille and Clearwater. Located with in Pinellas county, respectively.

We also love Bradenton & Sarasota beaches. Anna Marie Island, Lido Beach and Siesta Key are a few the popular destinations in the area.

We can consider other beaches, venues and locations, Even your own private home/property. Feel free to send us the details.

When is the best time to have a Florida Beach Wedding?

Florida is known for its beautiful weather year-round. While everyday may seem perfect for a wedding, weekends and holidays are quite busy. Everyone loves the fresh salt air! Weekends do fill up fast and can book in a year in advance. Sunsets are beautiful here and those times book quickly everyday of the week.

We live here, love our state, the beautiful beaches and weather. We also have the “inside scoop” on the best times of the year. While summer is typically when most people think of the beach, our beautiful state allows folks the opportunity to visit year-round. Our favorite time of year on the beach is from November thru March. We can certainly help guide you on dates and times that will be most comfortable for you and your guests.

How soon should we reserve our Florida Beach Wedding date?

As soon as you think about getting married on the beach, that is usually right after you get engaged. We can reserve your date a year or more in advance. If you are feeling spontaneous and want to elope, we might just be able to find a slot for you in as little as 3 days.

How do we reserve our Florida Beach Wedding or Vow Renewal?

You can fill out the form on our Contact Us page, you can email us, call us or even send us a text. We will discuss your date and get you on the calendar immediately with your deposit.

How do we pay for services?

We accept, cash, check, money order, credit cards, Venmo, Cash app and Apple Pay. (If we have not mentioned something here tell us about it) There will be a required non-refundable deposit of $100 to hold your date & time. Your final payment is required 15 days before your ceremony. Should you need to reschedule your date, your deposit and/or payments will transfer to the new date if it is re-scheduled within 365 days of your original date.

Who picks the location for our beach wedding?

This is your day so of course you pick the location. We are more than happy to recommend a beach based on local activities and current tourism fluctuations. We have also worked at many hotels, condos, parks and state parks. We will pick a spot on the beach based on permit guidelines or other activities happening and crowd conditions.

Will there be other people on the beach?

Yes! There are times that are more crowded than others and we can help guide you on dates and time of day. Our favorite months tend to not be as congested, Nov-March. Mornings are beautiful as well. In our experience beach goers do not tend to interfere. However, if there are a lot of beach goers you may hear a loud roar of cheers and applause as soon as you kiss your partner.

Everyone says I should have my wedding on a Saturday, why do you recommend weekdays over weekends?

First & foremost its much less crowded during the week. Most of our couples have traveled from out of town so there is not a rush for themselves or guests to return home on a weekday. A weekday wedding allows you and your guests to enjoy a long weekend, shorter wait times for dinners or other of the many fun things offered in Florida.

Is there a fee required to get married on the beach?

Yes, some beaches require permit, travel and/or access fees. This can vary from $250 – $400. Some beaches require permit applications no less than 30 days in advance. However, there are several that do not require a permit at all. If your eloping, do not worry we will get you on the beach and will provide beach location recommendations for your special day.

Who performs the ceremony?

We have an amazing team of professional officiants whom all have the proper credentials to legalize your marriage. Should you request a Spanish speaking officiant please let us know as soon as possible so we may secure them for your event. You will be able to consult with your officiant before your special day to discuss your vow selection.

What does the ceremony consist of?

The ceremony will be casual, light and romantic. You will have the option of choosing your vows and adding your own if you wish. These options will be confirmed during your consultation with your officiant. As part of your ceremony there will be a sand ceremony, this represents two lives joining as one. If you have any special requests, please let us know.

Can we include children, friends or family in our ceremony?

Absolutely! Children can be a part of the sand ceremony and receive rings or other gifts during the ceremony. You can invite a guest or family member to read a poem or prayer. If a guest or even, you or your partner would like to sing we can make that happen as well. Any special requests should be in advance and coordinated with the officiant for a smooth ceremony.

Can we bring our own Officiant?

Absolutely! Your officiant will be responsible for writing your vows and signing your marriage license. You must notify us at the time of your reservation or at least 30 days in advance. There will not be a discount or sand ceremony should you bring your own officiant.

Who takes the photos and when do we get them?

All our packages include one of our professional photographers. All packages include one hour of photography; photographer will photograph your ceremony, family, groups & intimate poses. They love hearing your ideas and will make every effort to accommodate any special requests. Photos will be available through a personal gallery online. You will be able to select the photos of your choice based on your package with the option to purchase additional photos. You will receive your final selection via digital download with print release. We have lots of print and gift options available for an easy one stop shop experience. These make amazing keepsakes and gifts.

Can we hire a Barefoot Events & More photographer for additional time?

Absolutely! You can extend your time by ½ hour or 1-hour increments. If you would like photos while getting ready or at the reception, we can build a custom package for you. It is strongly encouraged to reserve additional photography time when you reserve your wedding day or at least 30 days in advance. We cannot guarantee the photographer’s availability beyond your scheduled event if not reserved in advance.

Are guests permitted to take photos during our event?

While we understand your family and guests are excited for your day, we strongly recommend an unplugged event. In the excitement of the moment your guests can be a distraction, cause delays or interference of your photographer. Your guests may inadvertently appear in many of your photos with a phone or camera in front of their faces. We recommend they put their devices away and enjoy the moment. You will be able to share your personal album with all your friends & family.

Do I really need chairs for my guests? It’s only 15 minutes….

We understand this thought process. However, if you have older guests or folks who might have a difficult time standing for longer periods of time, they will be forever grateful. Having your guests seated also provides a clear view for your photographer to get amazing photos of your ceremony. It also encourages your guests to not get to close and use their own devices to take photos. (see above)

Are rehearsals included?

No. Beach weddings are an amazingly simple process. Your officiant will go over your vows beforehand and answer any questions you may have. We will guide you beforehand on where to stand etc. Do not be afraid to ask questions. Trust us, its easy and nothing to be nervous about

How much trouble will I be in if I am late to my own wedding?

We understand life happens and sometimes things go wrong that are out of our control. Please contact your officiant immediately if you are running late. If you or your guests are late this will likely have a domino effect. Your event may be shortened which will affect the photography (less photos) and or less light effecting the quality of your photos. You may not receive a full hour of services as we must maintain a strict timeline to satisfy additional contracted clients that day. If you are 30 minutes late there will be a late fee of $150. If you are more than 30 minutes late your event may have to be rescheduled.

Who files the license after the ceremony?

After the ceremony, your officiant will sign your license. We will mail the license to the appropriate County clerk for you. They (the county clerk) will then mail you the certified copy. Some couples prefer to return to the clerk’s office themselves to receive their certified copy immediately. This may facilitate in name changes, insurance and other legal documents you may need sooner than later.

What happens if it rains on our wedding day?

We do not own a venue so that means we do not have an indoor space for your wedding. It is your responsibility to have a backup plan available. If it is raining, we cannot photograph your wedding on the beach. Lightning is a serious concern as well. While we have officiated a few weddings during a light sprinkle it is entirely at the officiants discretion if they wish to proceed. We watch the radar and will keep you informed. We live here so we know little storms can pop up and typically do not last long. We want you to get married and do not mind getting a little wet. However, everyone’s safety is number one priority. If you do have a backup plan, please let us know in advance so the transition will be as smooth as possible. If we need to change the time, location or decor there will not be a discount or refund. Your back up plan must be within 20-minute drive time of your original location or a travel fee may be required. Simply put, don’t worry to much. We watch the weather daily and will contact you immediately if we have any concerns.

Some suggestions to keep in mind for your rain plan:

Be open minded. Every day is an adventure and sometimes you just must go with the flow. If it’s safe we will move forward in a light rain and we can all get wet.

Sunset Beach has a pavilion you can rent up to 6 hours. We can schedule your wedding here and you’ll have handy backup plan and a covered area for a reception. (https://www.mytreasureisland.org/residents/departments/recreation/facility_rental.php)

You can check with your hotel/condo. While they may not have an outdoor covered area, they may have indoor space. Check with staff and their policies.

If you have a reception planned, the ceremony may be moved there. You must ask in advance. If this is your chosen backup plan, please let us know. Typically, our staff will be permitted but our setup may not.

If it is only you and your significant other (or only a few guests with flexible schedules) we may just be able to postpone till the next day.

Rain chances are significantly lower in the cooler months. Nov-March is a great weather and fewer storms. Summer brings lots of afternoon showers and storms. Something to consider when booking.

What happens if we must cancel?

It is not fun to have to reschedule or cancel such an important day, but it does happen. You must notify us with 14 days or there will be a $150 fee to reschedule. If you are rescheduling, your new date must be within 365 days of your original date. Permits may have to be reapplied for and a new permit fee applied. If you cancel without rescheduling, you forfeit all moneys paid to Barefoot Event & more.

Do we need to meet in person before the ceremony?

Not at all. Most of our clients live out of state or the country. We usually meet about 30 minutes before the ceremony. If you live in Florida and near one of the beaches, your welcome to come by and speak with us before or after one of our weddings. Shoot us an email and see where we are. A beach wedding is a simple process and we have everything worked out over the phone or thru email. We are only a phone call away.
